1990 - 2005
The charm of the start
On 5. of February in 1990 the citizens of Szombathely were the witnesses of a historical event. For the first time the jingle of the television was audible in the ether. At the beginning we had difficulties, we felt like if we were as a „child” in the world of television. But we could still say that it is OURS.
The Local Television was born
With the political transformation the new electronic medium was born.
Money
The biggest part of the television’s budget comes from the town. Which means that our prospects are in tight connections with the local government’s budget.
Programmes
Our running time and our programmes have been continously extended.
At the beginning only weekly, then every other day, and from the mid 90’s the television broadcasts every day.
The survey shows that with the local daily newspaper and with the weekly newspaper the television is the medium which provides the most important information.
Every weekday at 7 o’clock we show our local News. This programme atracts the most people in front the Tv.
Maybe this is the reason why our viewing figures are always around 15%. Which is matching with the viewing reports of the commercial channels.
The new structure was developped in 2003.
Monday is the day of the sports and the healthy living.
Tuesday is the day of art, the science and the culture.
The magazine on Wednesday is dealing with the civil problems.
After the News on Wednesday we show „The let’s talk about it” magazine.
Thursday is the day of politics. On this day the local politicians have the oppurtinity the comment ont he local occurents.
On Fridays we have a magazine which is about the local programmes at the weekend and we are cooking, tasting wines…etc.
